When I was a youngster, I was taught that sex was dirty and sinful. We're gone from that point to "anything goes" in today's society.
I think it's sad that we've been such poor stewards of something so beautiful. God made both man and woman. And, I find it difficult to believe that he made anything that is dirty or vulgar. Parents are the ones that should teach their children to understand and respect their bodies. Teach them how precious and beautiful the sexual union is meant to be between a man and a woman. Without sex, the human race would die out.
We have become so permissive in today's age that it is little wonder that these youngsters are sending such pictures via their cell phones. Nor is it any wonder that we have violence running rampant in our society. Take a good look at the movies, magazines, books, electronic games, and so forth. They are all filled with sex, drugs, and violence. We have gone on a drunken binge with them and money. The children cry because they don't have the latest designer clothes, the most up-to-date computer games, cell phones and so on. And, the parents give in and give them everything. It has come to the point that we are advertising and saying "It's all about me!" Me, me, me, mine, mine, mine.
Whatever happened to moderation, self control, discipline, and morals? The current state of our country (and the world in general) clearly shows what gluttony, greed, promiscuous behavior, self-centered and selfish attitudes have done. It's long past time to sober up and realize that such things do not provide happiness. Giving of one's self is far more fulfilling and gratifying.
As to the shenanigans of these youngsters, I say they should be tarred and feathered and then burned at the stake! Ridiculous? Yes it is - they are experimenting with life, a natural sequence of events in the growing and maturing process. To convict them of child porn is ridiculous. The parents and the whole village should hang their heads in shame for their failure to give their children the time, love, and attention they need. Many will say, "I do give them my time - all of it." "I drive them to their dance and music lessons, soccer games, football practice, baseball games, shopping, everything." The problem here is that they (the parents) are getting their children too involved in too many activities. Whatever happened to family time? Meals together as a family, going to church, synagogue, temple, whatever. Teaching our children how much fun it is to help others that are less fortunate. Helping that little old lady or gentleman with chores that they can no longer do. Organizing food drives, fund raisers and so forth to assist the homeless.
Most people probable don't know (and, even worse, don't care) that Mother Teresa was born to an extremely wealthy family. As a young lady, she gave it all up for a life in poverty in which she could assist others. She had a life far more fulfilling than anything money could have bought her.
Let us all sober up from the years of excess and take a new direction that will return our nation to its once great status!
